Morning
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your Arusha hotel early in the morning, followed by a scenic drive to the Machame Gate, located on the southern route of Mount Kilimanjaro. After a briefing by your experienced guide and completion of park formalities, you will start your hike through the vibrant rainforest. As you ascend, enjoy the sights of towering trees, dense undergrowth, and possibly spot wildlife such as monkeys and colorful birds. The path is well-maintained, with gentle slopes that allow for a leisurely but invigorating walk.
Lunch
By midday, you will reach a scenic resting spot for a well-deserved break. Your guide will prepare a packed lunch, giving you the chance to relax and take in the serene surroundings. Enjoy your meal surrounded by the beauty of the rainforest, with views of the mountain’s slopes and the sounds of nature all around you. Afternoon
After lunch, you will continue your hike for another few hours, exploring the rich biodiversity of the area. Depending on the route you choose, you may reach the ‘Macheme Camp’ or another viewpoint before beginning your descent. On your way down, you’ll reflect on the stunning views and diverse landscapes encountered throughout the day. Finally, after a refreshing hike, you will return to the Machame Gate for your transfer back to Arusha, where you’ll arrive in the late afternoon, concluding a day full of adventure and natural beauty.
